NAPA Redwood Table
NAPA old growth redwood live edge table
This table was constructed using a 8’ redwood slab and a custom rectangular, steel, powder coated, matte black finish base. The width varies depending on where you are sitting-38-40 inches. The thickness is 3 “. Given the size and outdoor use, the table was outfitted with 3 stainless steel stiffeners- 36” in length by 2” in width and ½ inch thick. The base was constructed using aluminum and was matte black powder coated for durability. The finish is a clear oil, poly blend which enhances the natural beauty. The table found a beautiful home in Napa Valley.
The wood was sourced from a company in northern California that specializes in old growth redwood salvaging.
Capable of attaining heights of nearly 400 feet, Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) is the world’s tallest tree species. It grows in a very limited area on the Pacific coast of northwestern United States, where heavy rainfall and cool, damp air create a unique environment for these trees. A related species, (Sequoiadendron giganteum), sometimes known as Giant Sequoia or Wellingtonia, produces similar lumber. Redwood lumber is very soft and lightweight, with a decent strength-to-weight ratio.
