This table was constructed using a 13’’ Pacific Deodar Cedar slab and two custom, black matte, powder coated metal bases connected by a T-bar for added support. Given the size and outdoor use, the table was outfitted with 4 stainless steel stiffeners- 36-40” in length by 2” in width and ½ inch thick. The table width varies depending on where you are sitting-38-40 inches. The thickness is 3 “. An external poly / oil blend was used.

This cedar’s name, Deodar, derives from Sanskrit that translates to "timber of the gods." The tree is native to the Himalayas, where it has been known to reach 250' tall. It was introduced to Europe in 1822 and to the United States nine years later.

The table found a home in Palo Alto, California.
